Many of Whitescape’s school projects are timed so that work is started and completed within summer holiday periods. Some of these projects are relatively small-scale works to staff and student accommodation, but others involve extensive remodelling and reconstruction of core areas.
Our success in delivering time-critical projects comes from Whitescape’s meticulous attention to strategic planning and to the vital preconstruction stage. This ensures that every project ‘hits the ground running’, the right resources are in place for every phase, and nothing is overlooked.
Some examples of how we can do it in just six weeks
At Thameside Primary School, Reading, we reconfigured the kitchen to meet the government directive of ‘free school meals for every child’.
At Marnel Infants School, Basingstoke, we made alterations and removed asbestos from the SCOLA building to create teaching space for an additional 30 reception class pupils.
At Farleigh independent boarding school, Andover, we altered the listed building including relocating the main entrance and refurbishing the Chapel.
At Downe House School, Thatcham, we created a flat for the House Mistress and additional student accommodation.
“Given a challenging timeframe and tight budget, Whitescape responded extremely well delivering the operational areas of the Thameside kitchen project as required at the same time as accommodating changes to the scope of works and thereafter delivering the remaining areas to enable final occupation.”
